The property, located on northern Vancouver Island west of Port McNeill, was the former site of Consolidated Mining’s Benson Lake Mine, an underground mine that capitalized on the “Old Sport Horizon”.  The mineral rights were originally held by Coast Copper Ltd. The Benson lake area has been active in mineral exploration since 1911.

Production at the mine between 1962 and 1973 totalled 2,621,131 tonnes, yielding 11,731,152 grams of silver, 3,868,842 grams of gold, 41,193,033 kilograms of copper and 506,148,445 kilograms of iron.

Low metals prices forced the closure of the mine in 1973.

AJB’s property includes a mixture of real property and all the associated mining rights, 29 crown grants and mineral claims in total. The property contains a vast amount of magnetite.
